This is the title of the book that i’m reading now..i borrowed it from deasy (thanks des!).. It tells a story about the building of Taj Mahal, one of the most beautiful human creation in the world. Well, not all of it is about the building process (seems so architectural book then..) but what makes this book so interesting is another story beside the building itself. The love story, the affair, the conflict between siblings, and the war.

The main character of this story is Jahanara, daughter of Agra’s Sultan at that time. Because of the political decision, she had to marry a rich man that she didn’t love at all. She dreamt about a man that would love her the way she was till the end,,and she met him finally. His name was Isa, the architect that would build the Taj Mahal, a memorial monument for Jahanara’s late mother. Together with Isa, she worked everyday to design and build Taj Mahal. Love then grew in their heart but they couldn’t share it since Jahanara had already married to Khondamir. So they kept their love as a beautiful secret that was so hard to keep.

Conflict came up when Jahanara’s brother, Aurangzeb, started to be the Sultan and tried to kill Jahanara and her oldest brother, Dara, who supposed to be the Sultan. Struggling to keep her secret and her family, Jahanara tried to prevent Aurangzeb stealing the Sultan crown. Could she do it?

I haven’t finished reading it yet, but i can promise anyone that this book is really good. Two thumbs up for the author, John Shors, that can make this book really adventurous. He wrote story about Jahanara as if he is a woman who is drowned in large pool of love..

Can’t wait to finish the novel so I can tell all of you the ending..hihi..spoiler!!
